IMPORTANT SALES ORDER TERMS AND CONSUMER
INFORMATION
ONE MONTH LOWEST PRICE GUARANTEE: If you see the same merchandise
advertised by any California store for less than the delivered price
you paid at Copenhagen, we will refund the difference. Merchandise
must be the same manufacturer, quality, color/finish/pattern,
condition (e.g. new or floor sample, assembled & deluxed or
unassembled), and in stock with delivery included. Not Included:
manufacturer-supported special pricing, “free w/ purchase”
promotions, floor samples, clearance, one-of-a-kind, imperfect and
discontinued items. Just bring in your sales order and a copy of the
ad within one month of purchase!
PERSONAL SATISFACTION GUARANTEE: If for any reason you are not
completely satisfied with any item you purchased from Copenhagen,
you may return it for a credit or full refund. Just return it in new
condition within seven days from date of receiving item. The only
exceptions are bedding (which cannot be returned under state law),
special orders, other specifically excluded items, delivery charges,
and labor/materials for custom services.
LIMITED WARRANTY: Copenhagen guarantees all furniture against
defects in construction for a period of one year. When a structural
defect is brought to our attention, we will repair or replace it at
our option at no charge to the customer for parts and labor. There
will be a charge for transportation. General Terms – For
service under this warranty, please contact your sales associate.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other
rights which vary from state to state. General Exclusions –
This warranty does not apply to merchandise sold “as is,” defects
caused by customer abuse or negligence, fabric wear-ability and
color-fastness. Mattresses are covered by a separate limited
warranty. The liability of seller for any defect in goods shall be
limited to repairing or replacing the goods, whichever seller shall
elect. Seller’s option to repair or replace is hereby expressly
agreed to be buyer’s sole remedy. Under no circumstances shall
seller be liable for incidental or consequential damages for the
breach of warranty or for any other reason.
SPECIAL ORDERS: We require a non-refundable 33% deposit for such
orders. When you place a special order, we will give you an
estimated delivery date. We will notify you as soon as the item
arrives; usually this is slightly earlier than estimated. If we do
not have the item by the designated date, we will advise you and
offer you an immediate 100% refund. Because most of the goods we
sell are made from natural products, there will be a difference in
grain and color or dye lot between display samples and a new item.
Leather will have random, natural markings. All orders are subject
to availability.
LAY-AWAY: We will gladly hold merchandise without a charge for up to
six months from purchase date with a minimum deposit of 25% plus
monthly payments equal to 15% of the total invoice amount. Beyond
six months, there will be a storage charge of 2% ($10 min) per
month. All orders held and cancelled after one month from date of
purchase are subject to a 10% ($10 min) handling charge.
WOOD: Most of our items are constructed of finely crafted veneers,
other wood products and selected solid hardwoods. Natural light
affects natural wood. Accordingly, newly unpacked pieces will not
look identical to display samples. Color and grain variations are
natural characteristics of fine cabinet woods which mark the unique
individuality of each piece. For this reason we cannot assure the
exact matching of related pieces.
ENTERTAINMENT CENTERS AND OTHER LARGE ITEMS: Large items often
require special planning, customization and installation. Before
delivery, please decide precisely where you want large items
positioned, since they cannot be moved easily. If you ever need to
move this or any other furniture, be sure you have enough help to
lift it: never pull or push it! Be sure all wires and
cords are in place, ready for our installers to run into the unit,
if desired. We strongly suggest you use electrical and audio/video
extension cords that can be easily detached to remove, service, and
replace your components. Our insurance does not allow us to handle
your TV, video, audio or computer equipment.
TEMPORARY COMPRESSION OF UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE: Upholstered items
almost always arrive with some temporary compression of the soft
padding. This means slightly squashed cushions, partially indented
foam, and other markings that are the result of months-long
shipping. All of the visible compression will self-correct in time.
The padding simply needs time to decompress. There is often some
visible compression for several months after upholstered furniture
has been unpacked. While some customers are not pleased with this,
visible compressions are not defects. They are temporary and will
disappear over time.
UNASSEMBLED FURNITURE: To avoid potential problems sometimes
associated with unassembled furniture, we suggest you buy only
assembled furniture. If you elect to buy unassembled furniture, you
are advised to inspect all pieces of unassembled furniture prior to
assembly, as we do not inspect cartoned furniture, nor do we
deliver, pick up or exchange it gratis. There is a minimum
15% restocking charge if returned.
DELIVERY SERVICE: Contract drivers can deliver your purchase within
our regular delivery area for a nominal charge. We are able to offer
a low rate because they route their trucks the most direct and
economical way. As a result, no request for morning, afternoon, or
other special delivery hours can be accepted without incurring
additional charges. If you require delivery at a specific time of
day and/or on a specific day, such arrangements must be made at the
time your order is placed. Please advise us if your building has
restricted delivery / receiving hours before we schedule your
delivery. Feel free to call us one day before your scheduled
delivery for an approximate delivery time. When you call, we will
give you a projected three hour span somewhere between 7am and 7pm.
Cancellations or postponements must be made three weekdays prior to
the scheduled delivery date to avoid a charge. There is a nominal
charge for packing when applicable.
DELIVERY INSPECTION: Except for
items purchased unassembled, your furniture will be carefully
inspected prior to delivery and we are very confident it will be
delivered in good condition. Before the delivery people leave,
please look at the furniture being delivered to be certain it meets
your expectations. As you know, wood grain, quality leather and
other natural materials have variations in coloration, markings, and
other characteristics that make each item distinctive. Because your
time and money are valuable, we want to make sure you are pleased
and will not have to pay for our delivery people to come back a
second time. We can also arrange to ship your order outside our
regular delivery area. In fact, we ship all over the U.S. and
throughout the Pacific Basin.
MERCHANDISE PICK UP: Since we need time to properly prepare your
merchandise, please schedule and confirm your pick up 24 hours in
advance. For all but the smallest items, bring an SUV, truck or van
and another person to assist you in loading. Our insurance will not
permit our sales employees to load or assist loading, nor do we
permit them or you to remove large or heavy items from our showroom.
To protect your new purchase, bring plenty of blankets and tie ropes
with you. Keep in mind that delivery is available at a nominal
charge and strongly recommended. PICK UP INSPECTION: We want you to
be satisfied and not have to come back a second time. Before
leaving, please look at your furniture carefully. For more
